From 30 October to 14 November, adventurous athletes from all over the world can register on the official SWISSMAN homepage and, with a bit of luck, secure one of the 250 coveted starting places<\/em><\/strong>.\r\n\r\nThose who know it know: the SWISSMAN is not a race, it is an adventure.Four cantons, three alpine passes, two lakes, one finish, 226 kilometres and 5700 metres of altitude.This is the challenging course of the SWISSMANS. On Saturday, 20 June 2020, the eighth edition of the long-distance triathlon with cult status will take place. Whoever can secure one of the limited starting places will be decided by lot.\r\n\r\n<strong>With luck and perseverance to the starting place<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nThis year, the registration window will remain open from 30 October to 14 November. On the way to a starting place, a certain amount of perseverance will help, in addition to the indispensable portion of luck. Athletes who have already registered unsuccessfully last year will be given special consideration when registering again. Their name will be listed twice in the pot. If the draw does not work out this year, they will be listed three times in the following year. This means that the chances of a starting place increase with each subsequent registration.\r\n\r\n<strong>Once a SWISSMAN, always a Swissman<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nOnce you are part of the SWISSMAN family, for many athletes it is not just a one-time participation. Many of them return as athletes, supporters or even as crew members. So the crew grows and with it the cohesion of the SWISSMAN family year after year.\r\n\r\n<strong>In the starting field: local before global<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nThe local roots of the SWISSMANS have been promoted since the first days in view of the steadily growing international interest. For this reason, half of the starting places are reserved for Swiss athletes, the rest are drawn by lot among the other nations. The 250 athletes drawn will be notified at the end of November, and the definitive starting list will be published in January 2020.
