The next SWISSMAN Xtreme Triathlon won’t take place until June 21, 2025, but the lottery for the 250 coveted starting spots is about to begin. From November 1 to 10, adventurous athletes from around the world can register for one of the 250 coveted slots on the SWISSMAN website! The composition of the starting field will be determined by a draw.
Extreme course across Switzerland
The cult status of the long-distance triathlon doesn’t come from just anywhere. Four cantons, three Alpine passes, two lakes, one finish. 226 kilometres and 5575 metres in altitude. From the palm trees of Ticino to the imposing backdrop of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, this is the challenging course that makes the SWISSMAN an unforgettable experience.
With luck of the draw to a starting place
With its impressive route through the Swiss Alps, the SWISSMAN offers a challenging adventure against a picturesque backdrop. Athletes who take on this challenge will push themselves to their limits and leave with unforgettable memories. The first step to participation is registration. Who ultimately gets one of the 250 starting numbers is decided by lot. A good pinch of luck is required: Every year, around 1,000 people from up to 70 nations apply to take part in the SWISSMAN Xtreme Triathlon.
Opportunity multiplier endurance
The fact that the SWISSMAN is organised without official timekeeping has been clear since the first edition. The focus is on the experience, not the time. A principle that continues right through to the allocation of the limited starting places. In keeping with Swissman tradition, registration is not about being as fast as possible. Athletes who have not been allocated a place in the past will be given preferential consideration in this year’s draw. The number of tickets in the pot is automatically multiplied by the number of unsuccessful registrations from previous years. This means that the chances of getting a starting place increase with each additional registration.
